Low Carb Diets Recipes: To Burn Fats Easily

Welcome back!

For those who are into any kind of diet program or to those who are eyeing to have one, eating the same food over and over again is perhaps one of the most dull and frustrating parts of undergoing diet. Thus, preparing low carb diets recipes is quite a challenge considering that people on a restricted diet have to consider the components of their food. Some people who are undergoing fat loss program fail to finish the entire course because of the dilemma with choosing the kind of food that they have to eat. Actually, you really do not have to be bothered by this dilemma because you can be as creative as you can in preparing recipes which are low on carbohydrates without necessarily sacrificing your efforts to weight loss.

If you are on a low carb diet, most of the foods that you eat are boring which means that they usually lack flavorand sometimes they also become bitter to the taste. To turn this around, there are spices such as onion and garlic which you may use to add exciting flavor.

There are less salted broths commercially available which you may use as seasoning instead of eating bland foods. This kind of diet will definitely not allow you to eat carbohydrate-rich foods such as breads and pasta.

But if you would really like to have those in your meal, you can choose to have whole wheat; only control your intake to few times a week because it may add up to your weight. You may also have tomato-based pasta as this acts as antioxidants to purify your body from impurities.

Eating fishes, vegetables, and lean meat is highly recommended if you are in a low carb diet. Add salt to these so you will not eat them blandly. As with the chicken, you may add black pepper or herbs such as dried rosemary to improve the taste.

If you are eating, let us say 30 to 40 grams of carbohydrates everyday which corresponds to 1,200 to 1,700 calories; you have to take in more fruits and vegetables to balance your diet. For your diet to become more effective, cut down your carb intake to 20 grams each day and replace the remaining amount by eating fiber-rich foods.

Carbohydrates are still essential because it is the resource of energy for the body. But on a low carb diet, a major knock down of carb ingestion is needed. To maintain the supply of your energy, you can have low-carb breads and nominal serving of rice. You can also add omega-3 acids on your meal to help you burn fat and eliminate free radicals. This can be done by adding tuna on your sandwiches or adding tomato sauce on your pasta.

Also, avoid eating on fast food chains as their foods are loaded in preservatives and added coloring. Eating burgers which are half-cooked can add instantly to your stored calories. These low carb diets recipes are only a few of the feasible meals you can have for each day. Remember that dieting should not be a dilemma for you; instead it must be a challenge to your creative part and of course, on your goal to have a healthier body.

Are you already stressed out with the kinds of foods that you eat just for the sake of trimming down your weight? Well, pause for a while and read this article on low carb diets recipes so you will not suffer from bland foods anymore.

Is There An Atkins Grapefruit Diet?

The Atkins Grapefruit diet is a diet plan, not endorsed by the eponymous Dr. Atkins company, that plays on the popularity of the grapefruit diet and the Atkins diet name. However, a closer look into this diet shows that it may not be all it claims to be.

First off, it’s pretty hard to any find information on the Atkins grapefruit diet plan at all. Smart people realize that when someone is carrying out a con, they will often skim over the facts. This is what the Atkins grapefruit diet appears to be doing while trying to get people to associate it with two supposedly effective diets.

Is the Atkins Grapefruit Diet part of the Atkins Diet or recommended by the late Dr. Atkins’ company? The answer is a resounding no, not only is there no mention of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet on the Atkins web site, but there is no fruit of any kind allowed in the list of allowed foods in the Atkins diet Induction phase either.

The induction phase allows the following foods: fish of all kinds, all fowl such as turkey and chicken, any shellfish, any meat such as beef or pork, eggs cooked in any style including fried, cheese, vegetables, herbs and spices, fats and oils, low carbohydrate beverages including diet soft drinks.

Please, notice one thing – fruit is not on that list. Later phases of the Atkins diet do include limited amounts of fruits such as cantaloupe and even lemon juice, and the pre-maintenance and maintenance phases even specifically allow small quantities of grapefruit. But when compared to the amount of Grapefruit recommended on the Atkins Grapefruit Diet, again there is a massive disagreement.

The Atkins Grapefruit Diet recommends a cup of grapefruit juice or a cup of grapefruit sections, with 8 and 18 carbs respectively. Even the most generous phases of the Atkins diet recommends limiting intake to below 8 carbs per day, when it comes to grapefruit. That’s a direct contradiction from one plan to the other.

Most reasonable people would turn to the Atkins website itself the moment they heard of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet and when they found no reference of that diet on their site, a red light would flash and an alarmbell would ring.

In general, please remember this: any diet that relies very heavily on one kind of food, such as grapefruit in a grapefruit diet, is not healthy for any but very short periods. The Atkins Grapefruit Diet is not linked with the Atkins diet, and could interfere with the results of the Atkins diet, especially in its early phases.

My Experience With The Atkins Diet (Part 2).

Some people try make your life miserable, if you let them. Everyone could see that I looked better and felt happier, but some people just have to try to spoil it. I was told: many people have died of kidney or liver failure after being on Atkins I read it in the paper; you will have a heart attack, it’s not natural; your cholesterol will shoot up and you will need your legs amputated or you will have a stroke; it will affect your eyesight. All sorts of drivel. So, I went to my doctor, who admitted that he knew nothing about the Atkins diet, but also added that he had heard nothing bad about it either. He sent me for a series of tests, but the results all proved satisfactory. He was very happy that I’d lost 18 lbs and so was I. Six weeks later, I went for another cholesterol check, because of the high fat levels in the diet and, although my cholesterol level was up very slightly, the doctor said there was absolutely no cause for concern.

The Atkins diet warns that you might develop halitosis (bad breath). I don’t know whether I did or not – no-one said anything, but I started brushing my teeth four-five times a day just in case. I suppose that that’s another benefit of ‘doing Atkins’ – increased oral hygiene. It also warns of constipation. I didn’t get that either, although I didn’t give up black coffee, which has always been a laxative for me. But surely you can’t suffer from constipation if you eat about a 1lb of greens a day? I hadn’t been eating that amount of roughage before starting the Atkins diet! So my two main concerns did not exist.

A couple of weeks later, I was getting bored not going out so much. I was still happy with the diet, but because I am single and am used to going out and drinking beer. So, I decided to go about this scientifically. One day, after work, I drank three pints of Guinness and felt great – the taste was wonderful. Before the diet, I would have drunk five or six pints. To my surprise and delight, the next morning the ketone stick told me that I was still ‘on the diet’. Over the following weeks, I really enjoyed experimenting to find out what would ‘work’ and what would not. I discovered that even a small amount of cider would ruin the Atkins diet; some beers and some lagers were all right; red and white wine were OK. Consuming alcohol does not knock you off the Atkins diet, but it slows down your rate of progress. Even slow progress is progress, I say. Better than giving up the diet or not going out.

Don’t listen to people who say ‘go on, just try a little bit’. They don’t understand or don’t want to understand how much they are setting you back. A body can hold two days worth of carbohydrates: one square of chocolate, one slice of bread, a bowl of cornflakes or one sugar in your coffee will cost you TWO days to clear out of your system. Just don’t let them do it to you. This is not a diet for stopping and starting whenever you you like. In fact I think that it probably could be dangerous to allow your ketone and other levels to fluctuate wildly. There are also high fat levels in the content of the Atkins diet, which is not dangerous if you stick to it, because you body consumes fat and cholesterol in the absence of carbohydrates.

The story ends so far, with me having got down to under 16 stone and keeping it there, until very recently when I moved to the Far East to live. Once I get used to the food and my own house and own kitchen, I will go down to 15 stone, I know I will ” with very little effort.

Anyway, thank you, Mr. Blackwell, wherever you are, you changed my life and my understanding of food and thank you, Mr. Atkins too.
